This year being the commencing year of the 12th Five Year Plan (2012-2017), the activity of putting the actual planning into place started earnestly. Understanding the criticality of initiating specialized planning based on inputs and indicators, Hyderabad based premier inter-disciplinary research and training institute - Center for Economic and Social Studies was approached to initiate the process of planning. CESS was commissioned to study and analyze the socio-economic and human development studies and the varied developmental indicators in the state to identify the current status, gaps concerns and prepare an Approach Paper to the 12th Five Year Plan. A draft Approach Paper to the 12th Plan was prepared by subject experts from CESS taking into account the 11th plan appraisal, varied development indicators of the state, sector and department wise appraisals and other primary and secondary data. The document is divided into 15 chapters, containing an overview, sector wise deliberations and a chapter on the concept of Results Framework Based performance monitoring. The prepared draft points out the concern, gaps, and recommends the focus areas that need to be incorporated within the 12th Five Year Plan for facilitating faster and sustainable economic growth in the state.
